Casablanca (Dir. Michael Curtiz, 1942)

I’ve never seen Casablanca (not the whole thing anyways) so I think I’ll watch it tonight and make up for lost time.

”The Lady Is A Tramp” (1948) - Lena Horne

Let’s talk hair shall we?

The past two summers I’ve stayed with a lightly feather Farrah Fawcett style. I’ve wanted to change my hairstyle to something more mid-century, even rockabilly inspired.

The top picture is of me taken in 2007 when I had bangs. The two middle pictures are of styles I ultimately want. The bottom picture is the style that I’ve chosen. I would prefer the two middle styles but chose the bangs because my hair is too thin and soft to wear into victory rolls every day. If I were to put my hair up every day it would take me an hour just to get ready for work.

So I’ve decided to go with the more Betty Page-eque bangs which is slightly different from how I wore my hair in 2007. I’m not going to go too short with my bangs because I still want the option of curling them up once in awhile.

As for colour; I have decided on milk chocolate brown. My hair is still damaged from last year when a new-to-me hairdresser over-processed my hair with peroxide while adding highlights. It resulted in most of the bleached hair to break off which means my hair feels even thinner than normal.

I’m looking forward to wearing a vintage/rockabilly inspired hairstyle. I think it really suits my personality and change is always a good thing.

I like it! I really like it! I would change the colour scheme but this is cool :)

A little bit of 1970’s love, just for you, gentle nerdlings.
I’m not an expert on early technology (I wish) or the 1970’s (weird, I know), but I would put this picture at around 1971-1972. I’m basing my guess completely on her outfit and hairstyle which I don’t see being any later than 1972.

Good times in Levi’s, 1972.

Y’know… I’ve never had a bad time in Levi’s. Oh and btw; those sand-coloured ones are awesome and I want a pair.

Some 70’s and 70’s inspired inspiration this grey, cold morning.

April 1978. This really really looks like something Janet would wear on “Three’s Company”.

She’s absolutely right; this is something Janet would wear on Three’s Company. Actually, when I saw it, I thought of Priscilla Barnes character, Terri.

I love it! But I admit, I hate those colours. Oh my… Dark turquoise and avocado green together is just horrible.

My badass haircut is tomorrow. I haven’t decided on a colour. I’m wavering between getting blonder highlights or wimping out and dyeing it back to chocolate brown. I have picked the style; feathered of course but more Jaclyn Smith and less Farrah Fawcett.
I have a big post coming up about my retro project. Expect it tomorrow evening.
