Yes! Wonderful. Wonderful. Perhaps too cool for my tastes because I prefer more warm, and organic spaces, it is still such a pleasure to look at.

It’s All In My Head

(modern meets mid-century via Just the Design)

I’m having a reoccurring conversation with myself; do I prefer simple living or minimalism? I collect the 1970s and I’ve written about how my joy of collecting ruins any pretense of me adopting a true minimalist lifestyle.

But, I really hate clutter and despite my best efforts, I end up having to deal with clutter. At the same time, I have conflicting love/hate opinions of modernist spaces. Most of these modern spaces are high-strung, over-designed, and don’t allow for comfort and respite against the outside world (which most people, including myself, highly value). But they are also impeccably designed, intuitive, and wonderful examples of careful thought and planning. They inspire me.

So how does one find a balance between valuing thoughtful, minimalist design and lifestyle, while also preferring warm, comforting, human, and collection-friendly spaces?

I’ve been arguing with myself all morning about it. There must be a solution but I seem to be blind to it. The search, and the debate continues…

Some modern 1970’s boho inspiration.

Some crochet love. My goal is to complete one afghan this Summer. I figure I have enough time every day to complete 1 square so by the time Summer is over, I’ll have a blanket ready for Autumn.

A modern look inspired by the 70’s.
